About rockets hitting Haifa

I believe, with all due repect, that Golly meant potent and formated MRLS's. If Hezibollah do have such systems at their disposal, the civilian death toll, the damage to infrastructure and to the city, not to mention the psycological impact, will be much higher. If they could manage to get 5 trucks, for example, to fire at the same time, it will be a much more serious threat than just single launches.

Of course. But the issue is that they do not have (or maybe very few) 6x6 trucks with 40 tubes. Those would be pretty easy to spot and hit by IAF. Their most used launcher is a 6-tube installation mounted either on a tripod or on a pick-up truck.

I don't agree. The IRINN already aired footages of a batterie of at least eight of these trucks firing a full salvo in South Lebanon. With such firepower concentrated, I don't think that accuracy is a problem, and you can perform a clean hit on any large enough target within range.

Shahid, any idea what type they were? How many tubes per launcher and what caliber? The usual BM-21 Grad 122mm or some Zelzal 3/5 240/330mm?

actually this is a bit off topic but why can't the israel find where they are firing the rockects because i thought if u know where they landed with math they could figure out exctly where they fire it

maybe they add a different amount of rocket fuel on each rocket , it's surely
make the counter battery even harder to do , without accurate firing position.

These rockets are very mobile since they are either very small or is truck-mounted. So when they see/hear planes coming there, they can eaqsily move out and hide in some foxhole or a building. (Which you can detect only if you destroy the building.)

Well you are naturally right when we are talking about improvised launchers whit 1-4 tubes… They are easy to hide and fire… But any truck based launcher won’t survive long in environment that is under constant UAV and fire finder radar surveillance… UAV is much harder to spot and hear compared to aircraft and Israelis showed that they know how to use them to there one advantage… And if UAV has spotted you without your knowledge you most certainly won’t hear guided bomb…
I have some doubts about Hezbollah’s batteries firing full rocket salvos from same fire position in current conflict… I have seen Al-Manar TV footage but it was clear that it was staged for propaganda purposes… If Hezbollah would be that stupid then they probably wouldn’t have any launchers left…

How do they avoid the heat signatures ? Surely this could be easily detected from the air ?

If the whole area is combed with inter-connecting tunnels, the Israeli's are going to need a lot more than a month.

It's going to be like Stalingrad or Grozny

You made great point here… it is very hard to hide firing position whit IDF level of surveillance…

Well not exactly like those two examples but yes IDF has dificult task if we consider how well Hezbollah is prepared for this conflict. But we could rather discous this in other thread...
