Vietnamese bride is a huge business in all of northeastern asia, including China, Japan, and South Korea. But from a personal preference, I would rather prefer importing blondes from Eatern Bloc nations that are super poor, but with really high standards of education.

Brilliant idea, however IMO blondes dont age well.however I'm quite partial to brunettes.

I don't think many people even read the article.
One crucial point is that under Chinese law, women are not commodity, the contract they sign is not legally binding.
Which means the brides can divorce and find better prospects as soon as they learn the basics of a civilized nation.

As for the feasibility, they are not kidnapping anyone, they setup a bride training school, girls enroll, when the girls graduate they get matched with suitors. As for language a lot of older and some younger Kinh do speak Cantonese, or even some other southern languages, so it's not hard to brush up on their Chinese.

That's why some agencies offer a replacement bride if the first one runs away within one year. :D

Besides, if the issue is redressing the gender imbalance in China, it doesn't really matter who the Vietnamese girl stays married to, as long as she stays in China. :)

Are they gonna find replacements if the next one runs away too? There's gotta be some reason why the first one ran off all.
