Are we even sure that something in that design form even exists for one the YJ-18 variants, and isn't instead capable of both dual anti-ship/land attack missions in the same missile rather than being separate variants? I remember reading a comment that you posted in another thread from a few years back, and you said pretty much the same thing. But, it's not like images/videos of YJ-18 launches from PLAN ships are rare, there's plenty. Yet all of them show YJ-18 with its pointier end, but none with a rounded end like a CJ-10/Kalibr/Tomahawk LACMs.

So, I think either such a variant for primarily land-attack missions with that design doesn't exist, and instead the YJ-18 missile is capable of both dual anti-ship/land attack missions, but at the same time, we do know the PLAN does land-attack exercises/drills, but in all of the YJ-18 images/videos over the years, we've never seen such a YJ-18 variant with a rounded end that is strictly a LACM. Assuming it does exist, I can't really see as to why they'd hide such a thing if the reasoning is political/message wise. A YJ-18 AShM is still an offensive weapon, and they've published numerous images and videos of it being launched over the years. I believe there's even one video showing a YJ-18 hitting a target ship?
For land attack cruise missile, you want it to have as much range as possible. Large portion of the anti-ship variant‘s volume is consisted of a rocket-based missile which has range of maybe 30-40km. If that volume is taken up by fuel, the range can be extended much much further.

The coping has already begun, long before the parade actually happens.

Reuters have already set the template for all the articles coming in the next weeks: Its all Bling and posturing by China to scare the US, but China cannot actually use these new capabilities.
Although it's ridiculous, it's also a bitter reality: if you don't use these powerful forces, everyone will only think you're bluffing. This is the 'reward' brought by prudence and restraint

It is true that all military parades are - at some extent - performative. Some may even argue that having a great performance is the whole idea for something like this.

You are going to see all arguments - most of them uninformed, biased or about the actual state of PLA assets, capabilities etc. At the end of the day though the whole idea of having a strong military for a country like China is to...not ever get forced to use it. That is what deterrence means.

Public posturing by states, experts or idiots on the internet is completely worthless. Same goes for posturing by China fanboys too btw and we have quite a lot of that in this forum, as expected of course. But at the end of the day, it is a fact that those that have to know, will get the message.

Some have even started to complain about it too, too much work 'n' all...case in point..

What I'm trying to say is that instead of getting offended by every idiot on the internet, relax, and enjoy the coming celebration. ;)
