This how I think the events this war started and how it ended.
Netanyahu after months of convincing that let him do and attack, overestimating the Israel air force capabilities and the reliability of their defense systems.
Netanyahu: Mr. President, I can assure that if you let us do this attack we can get rid of Iran nuclear program and do regime change in Iran and the US doesn't have to move a finger.
Trump: But but we don't have to get involved, right?
Netanyahu: No, Mr. president, Iran is so weak that we can handle the ourself, we will only need you help for refueling and missile defense.
Trump: As long we don't get involve attacking Iran I don't see the problem.
The war start and the Israelis launch a surprise attack on Iran, they disable Iran AD, they kill officials left and right and start bombing Iran nuclear facilities thinking that everything will be over in a week,

But then the Iranians start firing saturations attack to Israel, some of the missiles are going through the multi-layer AD hitting israel military facilities, government building and even damaging the hitting the air defense batteries. The Israelis didn't expected that the missiles will pass through and worse, the accuracy of these missiles in much better than expected. In the Iranian front now the Israeli air forces has to decide whatever attack Iran nuclear facilities or degrade Iran military capabilities,
they start to panic, the Iranian missile force is deep in the mountains and spread over a large area, the Israelis know they don't have the capabilities cause enough damage to Iran missile force fast enough before their AD degrade so much that every Israeli city is just a sitting duck for Iranian missiles. The israeli command beg Netanyahu to beg Trump for the US for help.
Netanyahu: Mr. President. The nation of Israel need you help. Please help us to end this job.
Trump: BUT YOU TOLD ME THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO GET INVOLVE, YOU SHOULDN'T STARTED THIS IF YOU COULDN'T FINISH YOURSELF.
The Israel lobby and the Mossad start their campaign in D.C. to get the US involved in the war. And then Trump lost it.
Trump: NUKE THE DAMN HELL OUT IRAN, I WANT TO BOMB EVERY SINGLE CORNER OF THAT COUNTRY. F*CKING NETANYAHU.
Then Trump advisers tell him that the best course of action is to bomb Fordow using bunker busters, Trump want it to do it in the weekends because, of course the markets, meanwhile Israelis cities were getting hammered by Iranian missiles,
Netanyahu begging in the phone, Trump getting even more angry. A total disaster. The US called the Iranians that are going to bomb these facilities and should evacuate everyone and the Iranians called the US and told them that evacuate their base in Qatar.
Trump called Netanyahu and told him to either end the war or lose US support and the Iran to either end the war or the US will get involved.
The Israelis dropped whatever they have left in Iran and the Iranians launched a final missile attack.
