2025 Israel - Iranian conflict

Russia has delivered Iran the S-300PMU2 and the Yak-130. Plus the Tor I think.

As for why the US did the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, don't underestimate the stupidity of the Trump administration.

I always find it funny when they claim the shock of the impacts would make these supposedly fragile centrifuges destroy themselves. When Iran is one of the biggest earthquake regions in the world. I doubt the facilities weren't designed with that in consideration.

If course he would say that. But Russia cannot allow Iran to fall into the US orbit. Israel or no Israel.
It would open up US access to Central Asia further. A huge chunk of Russia's heavy industry and MIC is close to the border with Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan alone has about as much population as Ukraine.
It would put Russia in mortal danger. As simple as that.
He couldn't allow Syria to fall, and it did, with nothing the Russians could do except give asylum to al-Assad.

The consequences of proving weak in the special military operation are the fall of Syria, the deterioration of Iran's military status due to Israeli and American attacks, and the loss of any prestige of being a good ally...

That was delivered too late, after Iran sued Russia for 4 billion USD and Israel already having F-35. In comparison to the Yeltsin (who was practically a traitor and a pro-West agent) he still managed to deliver MiG-29 and 3 standard Kilo class SSK to Iran during 1990s whilst drinking vodka as well.

I don't know what Iran is supposed to do with a few Yak-130? The Su-35 that were supposed to go to Iran (built for Egypt originally) were sent to Algeria. Not all of them, but a few, which should have been in Iran as Algeria wants Su-57 anyway.

Iran gets nothing despite helping Russia directly. What kind of signal does this send? Don't get me wrong: I like Algeria and their way being anti-imperialist, but there is a clear priority list and Iran should have been on the top of that list for deliveries of Su-35 long time ago.

Putin also said that Ukraine is "practically" a Russian-speaking country and something about Ukrainians being "brothers" stuff. How did that turn out?

Putin cannot even keep his so-called orthodox "brothers" in Armenia. Hindutva-regime is now delivering more weapons to Armenia than Russia. It's embarrasing.

One good thing from this is - if Iran survives - is that Hindutva-regime influence in Iran will be total zero onwards after attacking Pakistan and now supporting Israel in its attack on Iran.

Syria was basically peripheral.

Were they? That was just Western speculation. I know Sukhoi wanted to sell the Su-57 to Iran. Don't know what happened.

There were flights of Russian military transport aircraft to Iran not that long ago. We don't know what they carried.

Armenia wanted to be chummy with the US. And when NK invasion by Azerbaijan-Turkey-Israel happened they wanted Russia to fight for them without them moving a finger themselves. Screw them.

I doubt it is as important as it used to be for quite some time. Ever since India cowered to US sanctions on Iran and stopped buying Iran's oil.

Trump thanks Iran for ‘very weak’ response to US air strikes

Donald Trump has thanked Iran for giving the US advance notice of a barrage of missiles against the biggest American air base in the Middle East and said he would also encourage Israel to make peace. In comments on his Truth Social network on Monday, the US president described the Iranian attack on the Al Udeid base in Qatar as “very weak”, stating that of 14 missiles fired, 13 were intercepted and one allowed to complete its path without causing harm. “CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!” Trump wrote, adding that the Iranians had “gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE”. He said: “I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.”

Israel smell blood and tried to finish Iran once and for all, but finally found out its limits when facing Iran one on one. Then screamed and throwing a tantrum trying to drag daddy America into finishing his misadventure. America however, has Ch--- (shall not be named in this thread), constantly on the back of his mind, not to mention his nightmares, dares not commit any soldier, not even want to deplete his missile stockpile, not when there is a rare earth ban hanging over his head.

This is encouraging.

Trump has played this crisis very well, and showed that he has more political savvy than most gave him credit for.

By announcing that the US conducted a successful attack against Iran and completely destroyed their nuclear capabilities, he essentially shut down the Jewish lobby whose entire argument was that Iran's nuclear program posed a threat to the US. It also gave both Israel and Iran a face-saving exit ramp to return to the negotiation table.

The only wildcard here is Israel, or more specifically, Netanyahu. It remains to be seen if he will double down on his gambit and continue attacking Iran.

BTW, this also explains Tulsi Gabbard's reversal.

After getting attacked like this, there is no way Iran is returning to negotiations. Its either they keep fighting and eventually israel gives up, accepting that Iran is now completely unrestrained in its nuclear program. Or Iran is defeated and has regime change. I don't see another JCPOA happening

Iran doesn't want to keep fighting, this is pretty clear from their responses. They're also not going to publicly restart their nuclear program after the huge gift Trump just gave them. The only variable here is Netanyahu.

From these events, we can surmise that the Israeli lobby is extremely influential in the US. Even Trump has to tiptoe around them and pretend to work with them. That said, it also shows that Trump is probably not in their pocket either.
