2025 Israel - Iranian conflict

Except all their centrifuges are practically intact. Enriching from 60 to 90 percent purity takes less than two weeks. Ehud Barak publicly stated that Israel may be able to delay this by a few weeks at most. The U.S.? A few months. Those were his words in an interview posted a few days ago

Issue isn’t building a nuke. The Fat Boy that was dropped on Hiroshima wasn’t impressive by any means to what Iran can accomplish. It’s really a lack of political willingness to do so, and Israel is taking advantage of this.
The current Iranian government is already on the verge of collapse. Unless a new leadership emerges — with a fresh face, a new foreign policy, and renewed military preparedness — Iran is deeply and sufficiently rotten at this point.

But this is how past empires fell. Basically they kept losing battle after battle which humiliated it's people and nation.

So eventually they thought why should I support the current government who I'm paying taxes and my children to if they cannot even defend us from foreigners? They have failed to show competency so there should be a change in decision makers! And that's how you have uprisings that overthrew the rulers.

Sure Iran and it's ppl will still hate Israel. But they will have changed the government which is what Israel wants. Any significant change for the short period will weaken a nation until it gets used to it's new version.

That's why you should never appoint generals or military decision makers by connections over competency. The costs of losing fights is very large.
Which one? That's what's amazing, because no empires actually falls that way but people keep inventing them in their heads.
Also Iran has a parliamentary democracy with an elected leader, and if you think they'll elect a moderate next time, you're delusional.

Heh, and all because of some religious belief that building nukes is a sin.

This whole thing could’ve been prevented if they would’ve just done it already, but instead they just had to drag their feet and be all “moral”.
There are two rules when it comes to building nukes
1 - Don't say you're building one when you aren't.
2 - If your enemy says you're building one, you have to build one as soon as possible.
Iran followed the first rule but not the second.

The most obvious one is the one I'm not allowed to mention in the thread because it's now auto filtered and we will be going off topic.

it's highly unlikely that they can build a nuke now after having their nuclear facilities severely degraded. also you can't produce nukes when such facilities are under constant bombing. personaly I believe the window to produce a nuke has been closed.
How do you know they are severely degraded? Most analysts have consensus there is minor damage on the surface but unlikely anything underground. Even the satellite images show most of the surface structures still intact.

No casualties or hits reported. And no, you’re not allowed to see any livestream footage of anything, videos, photos, or satellite imagery.

Actually we made sure no one can see it. Just believe us. We tell the truth. Pinky promise.

And great, Israel scored a few hits on video. Maybe if they do this another hundred thousand times, it might make a difference.

I think people are underestimating how much ordinance is necessary to even begin to affect a country.

People see a cool ammo explosion or huge smoke plume and automatically assume “it’s the end”. Not even close.

During WW2 countries would get pummeled like this tens of thousands of times. It’s not the end of the world.
It's funny Israel says nothing got through because there are now footage of mopeds striking Tel-Aviv unimpeded in broad daylight.

So they built numerous over and under ground facilities for enrichment of uranium (that they don't need for civilian use), and spent a lot of money, just for lolz? Come on. You really believe in Fatwas and such nonsences?
Iran has a 1GWe civilian nuclear reactor at Bushehr and they are building two more.
But yeah, the enrichment was clearly developed with dual use in mind. Japan did the same. Do you know Japan has uranium centrifuges? And Japan is building a plutonium separation plant with the help of the French.

I think the most realistic thing iran can do is settle for a deal to end this war for now (if they can)
Which kind of deal are you talking about? A deal like the one Gaddafi made where he abandoned his missile and nuclear program? Fat load of good that would do.

Iran will never acquire a nuclear bomb in this global landscape. US and Israel will simply never allow this to happen
Iran should go for broke and try to get nukes even if they have to buy them from North Korea.

They should wait patiently until the global dynamic shifts which I don't this is very far off from now
No, they need to crash develop nukes, or get them somehow.

it's highly unlikely that they can build a nuke now after having their nuclear facilities severely degraded. also you can't produce nukes when such facilities are under constant bombing. personaly I believe the window to produce a nuke has been closed.
So far Israel only destroyed above ground facilities. The main centrifuges are likely mostly undamaged. Also there is no telling how many Iran has stockpiled.
