I think however in modern warfare, unless you are resorting to guerilla tactics, once the main support is taken you will lose very fast regardless of will to fight. Modern technology, information and strategy means the enemy knows exactly where to cut you off before you can even react. Before you can regroup together and share willpower together, the enemy would have found ways to prevent that happening and maybe hit you.
Like how Afghanistan and Yemen and Russia quickly folded to the overwhelming superiority of Western forces?

Oh wait

In Afghanistan it was exactly that. The US backed puppet government was the conventional force and once it lost the main supporting pillar, it folded up pretty fast. As the conventional force, things are different than if you are a decentralized guerilla force.

Iran is a proper organized thing so we have to treat it that way.

True, but only if said country has not built proper defenses, in particular earthen ones.

Deep, well designed trenches, extensive minefields and remote mining systems, extremely numerous (it’s always about numbers) reinforced tunnels, bunkers, etc…

These things can effectively nullify modern intelligence, technology and most ordinances.

They are busy with what they have been doing for the last decades - trying to stop the people overthrowing the government.
There is a reason why the Death to Israel and America rhetoric is still propagated hard by the Iranian government even though most other states in the region have long stopped and accepted Israel. The Iranian government desperately needs an external enemy to direct the focus and anger of the people away from them.
It's amazing to how people throughout history always manage to convince themselves you can get population to turn against their government by launching unprovoked attack on them.

Countries start wars to distract from internal disapproval, countries spends enormous efforts creating casus belli to not look like the aggressor to prevent internal disapproval, Israel didn't bother with any of that and gave Iran the best political stabilizer you can possible get.

Israel just burned decades of work fomenting dissent inside Iran, this is all hard power now.

Looks like Iran is not going to attack US bases

Rhetoric on both sides implying US not going to join this war in a serious manner
They can always attack via proxies, the way they normally do to US in Iraq.

____

So.. Pak/Ind are also involved. Modi has no other business in Cyprus (unless he's laundering money).
