Will China Prioritize Domestic WS-10 or Russian AL-31FN Engines for J-10 Fighter Aircraft?
seems like you didn't even try to read what we wrote in last page and just posted random shit link from YouTube.

doesn't make sense and not true. in fact PLAAF moving from Russian engines. older PLAAF aircrafts will switch to WS-10 once Russian engine died out. many old J-11/J-10A have already switched to WS-10.

J-20 powered by AL-31F engines are less than 50.

it will be nightmare logistically for PLAAF if they start using newer hybrid Russian engine.

one more point, J-35A now finalized for PLAAF. it means older J-10/J-11 will be replaced.. no need for new engines or even WS-10..

Future PLAAF fleet - J-20/J-35/J-16 and J-10C. all these aircrafts already have domestic powerplants..

******************************************************************************
i m being honest here, the chapter has been closed. though nobody knows what tomorrow will bring but the current sentiments in PLAAF is, to rely on domestic engines now.

Maybe one of the most important weapons in the Chinese arsenal in the future. Being able to drop a conventional bomb anywhere in the world. It's the US's Prompt Global Strike realized in China. For the US they can already strike anywhere around the world using their aircraft carriers. If the US is at war with you, you expect to be bombed. But for Americans... It will be something new and frightening for them to have a new delivery system come at them from any direction where anything in the US can be targeted.

GDF-600 hypersonic vehicle with cluster submunitions from ''GARA''. Launch mass 5000 kg, payload 1200 kg. Speed up to Mach 7, range 200-600 km, maximum trajectory altitude up to 40 km..

This has to be one of the most impressive platforms when they get this into service. The only issue with this is range. If you can get range up to 2000 km. It's just deadly for carriers with 2IC.

I don't think this is meant for CVGs.

It's a 5 tonne HGV. There's a reason why range is limited. Which makes me wonder if this type of weapon even makes sense. If it does I wonder what kind of employment scenario they're optimizing for. Though maybe this kind of HGV on a bigger booster could be useful for base destruction out to Japan (for a payload this big to hit Guam I don't know what kind of booster they would need).

There's a Business Insider video on YouTube about US army training for war with China involving island hopping. The entire exercise is basically the US Army version of USMC's Battle Force 2030 that would have them rapidtly deploying around Pacific islands to set up missiles and intercept Chinese ships or aircraft.

One of the funniest part was when the squad leader said their most important member was the "DJI pilot" flying a Mavic 3, and another segment where they hired a civilian to fly a Phantom 4.

But the entire time watching it, all I can think about was how hilarious it will look when they find out China can just deploy a few hundred swarming drones over those islands via hypersonics and all their training are useless.

Yeah I've seen this concept before and I'm just like...you expect to have enough uncontested air control to get away with this? What happens when your landing ships are spotted before you can even deliver the equipment you want to install?
