I find it interesting that they reused the designation of PL-11, the aspide-based missile that didn’t see widespread use.
But the PL-15 looks very much different alone in both fin-configurations?
Yes, so why not PL-16?
Given its length, which indicates that it’s a long range weapon, I hope it has more modes than IR

Just a slight modification I believe to trade in some range for better maneuverability.
PL-16 is the designation for medium range missile small enough to fit six in J-20’s bay.
But is this confirmed? At least we haven't seen a PL-16 yet? (or am I wrong) ... so then PL-18?
Seems like a mashup between the PL-10 rear end and seeker with the body of the PL-15. Could be an analogue of the R-27T for export customers that use such a missile.
We might get lucky if the J-20 opens their bays. The ones participating in this year’s expo are from Anshan.
