I think it's turns out much better than expected. Given of course there is a freaking pandemic this time lol. And the time zones so people in North America had to wake up at really inconvenient times to watch it.Well, in general people don't. But they do when its the Olympics!
Just for reference, article about 2018 game:
2018, same game, from the article:
So this time, with 3.54 million on the channel, is actually an increase compared to the Pyongyang match, but not as much as Sochi. Overall though, its just a really good turnout. Which, of course, the mainstream media completely ignores in favor of "CHINA BAD" articles, like a bunch of fucking children.
Note that NBC hasn't given viewership numbers yet on streaming, the 3.54 million is just on the TV sets. NBC has said, however, that Discovery+ (their streaming service) was a huge, huge success.

It will be profitable. Ticket revenue is only 5% of actual overall Olympic revenue for host city. The majority of revenue come from licensing fees to TV and broadcasting worldwide + sponsorships. Considering the relatively high viewership, and relatively low costs of hosting, it should be decently profitable.
Games probably going to break even financially, but western media making stuff up based on pulling things out of their ass.
Watermelon thieves are at it again. This time they've snuck out a Bing Dwen Dwen display and several flat screen television sets. Luckily for the Olympics organizers, there are as many surveillance cameras dispersed around the Olympic village as there were around the Olympic Skating rink.
