Do they judge by artistry/emotion? Their performance was incredible in terms of artistry. Really looked like two people in deep deep love
I think it’s both technical component and artistry. And there execution too. There is that colored bars on the screen that show you whether it was executed well or not. Red to yellow to green.

the trajectory is very positive. To think only 1 gold in last Winter Olympics. I suspect it will be not as many in the next one but more silver and bronze medals. As China gets more competitive in other areas.
Su Yiming and Eileen Gu are big boosters to the medal count. The short track speed skaters were tripping over themselves. There are some issues with these Korean coaches.

Well waiting for New York Times to reorder by number of total medals... Incoming...

US main stream media have been using the Freedom Medal Standing matrix since the Soviet got close to them in the 80s Olympics. All other country uses the official IOC medal standing.

In the current Freedom Medal standing, NBC right now is ranking Canada 3rd overall with only 4 golds while the US is 5th with 8. That’s the kind of sacrifice they’re willing to make for a democratic medal system just to stick it to China.

Google it, there are a lot of articles about the US “my rule based” historical changes in counting medals.
