Correction: The Bank of Japan is trying to increase inflation from about zero to two percent, understandable after some twenty years of deflation. However it may well overshoot its target by a considerable amount. It is very difficult to know when to stop when creating money from hot air.

I don't understand your correction. Japanese Deflationary measures are reducing the value of the Yen therefore increasing the cost of Military Import purchases, such as for the F-35. I do not want to get too off topic with economics in a military thread but simply put Japan is printing large sums of money to flood capital into it's markets. A cheaper Yen to the USD means a more expensive F-35.

One thing that suprises me about the Hygua Class and 22DDH is the absence of a well deck, don't know why JMSDF isn't big on well decks because it would have given them a massive capability in amphibious assault
The three Osumi Class vessels have well decks so JMSDF obviously know the value of well decks and amphibious landings, strange how they decided to build these flat tops exclusively for helicopters with no provision for amphibious landings in the form of a well deck for LCAC release or amphibious vehicles
They could have built these are true multi purpose LHD, instead they are exclusive helo operators, unless that is, they have built in a large hanger for use with F35B like the America Class, that can only be the plausible explanation

It is because of their focus on ASW. These are both very strong ASW task force leaders. They also can carry Marines for air assault if necessary.
The are not likely to ever carry a F-35B in their hanger that is Japanese. That does not mean that at some point in the future some US birds will not cross deck on them.
The is larger, with a larger hanger and larger elevator and there is no doubt in my mind that she could accommodate them inside the hanger if they so choose. Again, I expect to see US aircraft cross deck to her, and we will know if the JMSDF has any intent by their budget. If they ever purchase F-35Bs then you will know.
The JMSDF feels that the three give them the well deck lift capacity they need for defensive and humanitarian purposes.
The really interesting ones will be to see if these proposed 26DDH vessels are ever approved, funded, and built.

Let's convert into feet.
Length:
Wasp - 844 ft.
Izumo- 814 ft.
Beam
Wasp - 106 ft.
Izumo- 110 ft.
Draft:
Wasp - 27 ft.
Izumo- 24.5 ft.
So, if you take a cube (which they are not), but if you apply the same to both it can work for comparative purposes you end up with:
Wasp = 844x106x27 = 2,415,528 ft. cubed
Izumo= 814x110x24.5= 2,193,730 ft. cubed
The Wasp is 221,798 ft. cubed larger. Which is approximately 10% in terms of volume. But then you look at the loadout, the fueling capability, etc and you can come up with the difference. I personally believe the Izumo is closer to 30,000 tons full load if they really load her out. The Wasp is 40,500 tons so in essence you have a ship that is 30 ft longer and 2.5 ft deeper that is 10,000 tons more. That works for me.
