What happened to the other 2 Chinese athletes? Any younger athletes in this event?

Worthless lying Indians exposed... again. Lies "mystify" official Olympic testing agency.

Indian media's fake news about doping at Tokyo 2020 weightlifting takes off around Asia

It claimed that the women's 49 kilograms gold medallist Hou Zhihui, from China, had been asked to stay in Tokyo for an extra anti-doping test "and if she fails the test, India's Mirabai Chanu will be awarded gold".

The so-called extra test appears to be complete fabrication, based on a comment from "a source in the know of developments".

The World Anti-Doping Agency said it knew nothing about it, and the International Testing Agency (ITA) - which is carrying out anti-doping procedures at Tokyo 2020 for the International Olympic Committee - was mystified too.

Gold for these lying, fake-news, COVID-ravaged, 3rd world peasants.

and more bitchin'....

Italy and Serbia have been the top two favorites. China doesn't have much young players this time and mostly relies upon older players from Rio. Zhu Ting injured is the main reason why the Chinese women team not doing well as the team relies upon her for attacks and scoring points. Before her injury, China is also a top favorite along with Italy and Serbia. I think high expectation forced the Chinese women team being conservative and not using younger players.
I see. I don't follow volleyball that much. Traditionally Russia US Brazil and sometimes Cuba have been the powerhouses. The world rankings might been fluctuating when I check it was US China turkey all in top 5.

Yes ultimately the main factor is zhu ting injured. Not having her in optimal condition means china goes from like an A plus team to a B team. Thankfully Zhang CN and Li YY have taken up challenge and stepped up.

The best selection criteria for me at least in any team sports is choose the one in best form. With everything else being equal. Gets complicated when you have take account other factors like team chemistry, player reputation, age, experience, injuries etc. Ideally you want a good mix of young and more experienced players.

The young players gives you unpredictability and they can get valuable experience for future campaigns. However above all else you want great team chemistry. Great if all the players are stars and work well together. However in real life sports, more often than not, when it works well, it's usually the sum is greater than all the parts.

the most recent example is a bunch of good but not great players making up the Italy football team getting a victory over a star studded English team in the euro championship final.

Double Olympic champion no questions over her dominance . She was about 45 points above her second placed teammate. In fact china is super dominant in women's 3m event. I don't even remember the last time they lost.

Wang han the silver medallist must be so happy. Even though she is world class she had to wait for more than a decade before getting her chance to go Olympics due to china's talent pool. If she was born in any other country she would be 3 time Olympian at least. Then again she won't get the brilliant coaching and training from Chinese program

Sad the diving 3m events are over. But not sad that I dun have to hear Western commentators butcher Shi Tingmao name over and over again. Shi should pronounced closer to shhh than she. They say it like shitting mao. It's funny at first but gets annoying later lol.

The Canadian diver Abel bombed, I thought she will get the bronze. But the American was funny though, fun personality bobbing her head listening to music before each dive. The young Malaysian diver has potential and cute. She is one to watch in future. Oops sorry she is 22. Not as young as I thought but next Olympics she would be at her peak.
