I APOLOGIZE!
I got the YJ-18A wrong, they are SL-ASCM not land attack missile. This is something should happen to someone who had stayed up too long for over-excitement and surrounded by cheering crowds.
However, everything else I forecasted eventually came true, hope that helped you enjoy the show.

There is only one thing got me in surprise today, the BGM.
The orchestra didn't play that music on Sep.22! All advanced weapons had been shown in the rehearsal, yet they still kept such a powerful and beautiful music in secret! Damn, it is even more classified than hypersonic missiles!

I asked a lot people for the name and I finally get it. Its name is 钢铁洪流进行曲. As a big fan of 40K, I'd like to make a tiny bit of distortion in translation and call it Steel Legion Marching in English.

Next time, when someone is about to make a video about PLA, no matter the topic is Peacemaker of conflicting world or Big bad chincom... Tell them use this as the BGM! This music is simply way too appealing!

钢铁洪流 can be translated as something like “iron tide”or “flood of steel”, a literary expression to describe an armor group.

(I have the audio lol)

I do know how to translate the name precisely. As I said, I just decied to neta the Armageddon Steel Legion in Warhammer 40K.

(Seriously, where is our waaaghboss Yarrick?)

I have the audio too, have rotated that 7:57 for over 100 times!

Stealth nozzle on sharp sword is far from impossible but you got to wonder about the two hypersonics. Way too sensitive. I was surprised they showed anything but the crowds expected something.

At face value, the drone has landing gear and maybe variable geometry. The folds at the end of the wings are supposed to be for subsonic vortices? The Xiamen University experimental hypersonic explored "double-waverider" design and take at look at how that thing looks. I'm not an aeronautical engineer so eyeballing isn't a method but it would still seem like the folds seen on this WZ-8 doesn't seem conducive to hypersonic flight but could be variable for greater controllability during recovery and landing speeds. Rocket engines to sustain hypersonic flight after booster detachment or being dropped from something? Not air breathing that's for sure. Wouldn't be showing such a thing anyway. The Russians and Americans haven't shown off a single hypersonic beyond artist impressions so I guess in this regard, China is strangely transparent.

No official sources used the word hyper-sonic anywhere in the show.

The TV anchor said "high speed, high altitude" when presenting WZ-8. X-15 was a rocket powered manned aircraft which can reach Mach 5, that is many decades ago. So if WZ-8's highest speed is less than mach 5, it is nothing too sensitive to show.

good question, the announcers on CCTV said 'Chang Jian 100' or CJ-100, and referenced as a long range, high speed, cruise missile, so maybe they haven't decided which one to designate it yet
Where does the DF 100 fit into?
CJ-100 is DF-100.

The TV anchor said "CJ-100" while "DF-100" was passing.

I have said in a separate post that, CJ (Aka. DH, Aka HN) is the the program name, DF is the designation for the PLARF variant of CJ. Think of CJ as "Flying Leopard", DF100 as JH7.

...what we may name as "diplomatic negotiations of our time"

Glad you didn't say "peace of our time".

Yes, it is called a high alt high spd stealthy recon drone.
According too yankeesama:
WZ-8 is launched by H-6, powered by rocket engine and able to return automatically.
It had conducted at least 2 reconaissance mission over Taiwan.
