As to the Sovs...there are actually a total of four and, of course, the PRC did not build those...they purchased them from Russia.
Getrting those known facts so obviously wrong tends to lend less credibility to the overalll report...but we shall see.
I've searched and searched..but i can find no photos of the ROKN 6111 Dokdo participating in the parade. Has anyone seen any photos of the ship during the parade? I've not. If you have please post a link or the pix! Thanks!
Thanks for that clarification. That would make a lot more sense and probably is something lost in the translation. Again, thanks. In 'Chinese Sov', I think he was referring to the 052B.

Thanks, PLAWOLF already pointed that out and in my post above yours I indicated that this explanation addressed my concern, which also addressed the credability issue. That is misunderstanding of translation, they refer to 'Chinese Sovremeny's, which is I believe term for the 168/169s. Which are of course built in China. I do not think credibility is in issue in any case, it's just speculation of a retired 'naval lieutenant general' (viceadmiral?), it's his personal speculation.
I'd just like to go off topic a moment and ask a couple of questions about naval terms/procedures that have me a little puzzled.
I watch a local naval action drama from time to time and everytime the commander wants the boat to slow down or pick up speed he dictates the engine revolutions instead of the knots he wants whys that,is it customary or that's just the actors lines.
Anyway why have terms like aft stern, port, starboard come about, whats wrong with the regular words.
