Now for a couple of pictures of the existing laser and railgun technology, and then the weapons I built in 1/350 scale, which are a built to give the additional power needed for the defense of the ship:

Here's the existing Laser being used on the USS Ponce right now. Followed by an existing Rail-gun being tested outside and soon to be tested on ship:

Then two Laser weapons and two Rail-guns in 1/350 scale which have the upgraded power necessary for use in self defense against flying aircraft, missiles, or small vessels:

I built two of each and then show them all together:

I then got in my 1/350 scale 3-D Ford clas ISland. Set it in place unpainted and then did the basic painting. There's a lot of detailing that will needed to be done with various sensors, equipment, and railing.

I then got the 3-D sections for the bays in the hangar deck. There are three main bays and each has different equipment and access. I got all three, painted and detailed them, and then added them to the vessel:

At this point I went and got the material I will use for the roo/ceiling of the hangar. It is stiff, but thinly cut metal which I then sized and cut to fit:

That has the roof/ceiling in good shape. Once I get the LED lighting and place it on the inside, it will reflect and diffuse very nicely and evenly off of that surface.

also intend to place both laser and railgun defense station on the vessel, as well as her other defenses. This will be the most heavily point defense vessel in US history as I am building her

At this point I wanted to dry for the flight deck onto the hull with the hangar ceiling in place and make sure everything fit nicely, I even added a test setup for the air wing on the deck:

You can see the laser and railgun there on the starboard aft side, on the new sponson for the railgun and having the laser situated above near the RAM launcher. The [ort side has all three.

In that last one you can see the forward starboard sponson with the Phalanx and the ESSM on it.

Then here's one of the overall look:

She's looking like a Ford class alright.

Bit LOTS of work o do. Lots of detailing still in the ar deck and then adding the lights.

Lots of detailing all around the vessel with equipment, ships launches, fifty cal machine guns, 25mm guns, and then all the personnel as well as detailing the island.

Then there is all of the painting of the main deck and detailing the entire thing with more equipment and life rafts, comm antennae, etc. not to mention detailing and marking all of those aircraft!

But she is coming together nicely and wanted you folks to see how she is doing. Weeks worth of work yet to do though, Maybe I will be done by Christmas!
