Well there is no point for liaoning to break out since satellites can undoubtedly track its movements. But what's the chance of the U.S. setting up a solus system in the area to track submarines?
Given the current state of Chinese Submarine technology, what are the chances that a Type 94 submarine could enter the Western Pacific without being tracked? What measures do US and allies have in place to detect Chinese submarines? And if so, what countermeasures could China deploy to break defeat such attempts at detection?
??? this is the first time i am hearing this can anyone confirm?JL-2/A would cover the whole USA from Chinese water
I thought the JL-2A only as a range of 7,400km? You really need to say beyond the 1st Island Chain to be able to hit New York and DC. The 094 is too loud to be able to dive beyond the 1st Island Chain. It is a piece of cake for the Virginias and Soryus to track down the five 094. I feel like the JL-2A is really aimed at Europe, European Russia and India since it can hit the three regions countries when launched from the Bohai Sea (the only place safe enough for PLAN's loud boomers to operate). If China develops a 11,000km+ SLBM (like Trident II), then there will be a real sea-based deterrent against the US. For now, the land-based DF-5As, DF-31As, and the almost-finished DF-41s are enough to deter the U.S. (minimum deterrence).JL-2/A would cover the whole USA from Chinese water

The JL-2 is based off the DF-31, and like the DF-31 the newer variants of the JL-2 have longer ranges than the base versions, up to 12,000 km.
