I don't think we can dismiss the possibility of China purchasing Ka-50/52 just because they have other projects on the way. As we've seen with Su-30, Su-35, 636M, 051C and Sov class purchases, they are willing to place small purchases to gain immediate ability even if that means having a small fleet of aircraft or ships that don't use domestic system that they need to maintain. They value the need to train their forces sooner over waiting for better domestic options to come along.

It's quite interesting to me that they have not tried a naval version of Z-10s. Maybe they don't think it's well suited onboard amphibious ships. I see the main domestic options for 075 to be the various Z-8/18 versions and Z-20s. It's quite possible an armed version of Z-20 would work here. Although, I do think the long term play here is a larger dedicated 10-ton class attack helo similar to Ka-52. I'm under the impression that program is under development, but might not ready for service until 2025 or later. The question is whether or not PLAN desires a dedicated 10 ton attack helicopter in the next few years. If it does, then Ka-52 is very logical. It gives them time to train with it on Type 075. They can discover what works for them and doesn't. All of that would improve their own attack helicopter program. If they don't think a dedicated 10 ton attack helicopter is needed, then Z-8/18/20s are probably sufficient. The deck is long enough for UCAVs to take over some of that roles also.
The main object of type 075 in the next few years is to take back the Taiwan island. In such a mission, which could be supported by the mainland directly, a dedicated attack helicopter on LHA is actually not necessary. Z-10 has been reported to land and take-off on LHD, probably LHA also. But in the future, as LHA (especially type 076) will be the core of PLAN ARG, a dedicated attack helicopter is necessary.

You don't need (but would still be advantageous) to have attack helicopters on Type 075 LHD if you have Type 076s:

China's first Type 075 amphibious assault ship, the Hainan, has reached initial operating capability, and the vessel will visit harbors and ports all over the world and provide an outstanding image for the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, the warship's captain told the state broadcaster.

After a year of training, the Hainan will have full operating capability in the not-too-distant future, Captain Lü Yongjun, the captain of the ship, revealed in a program broadcast by China Central Television (CCTV) on Saturday.

with the PLA Navy on April 23, 2021 as China's first amphibious assault ship. Often dubbed a helicopter carrier, the vessel can carry a large number of helicopters in addition to amphibious armored vehicles and tanks, and launch both horizontal and vertical landing missions on islands and reefs, and even land from the sea, analysts said.

By reaching initial operating capability, a warship is ready for deployment for basic missions, and can start to participate in more complicated, realistic combat-oriented exercises to enhance its combat readiness, so the vessel can become fully operational, a Chinese military expert told the Global Times on Wednesday, requesting anonymity.

To the Hainan, it means that not only have the sailors familiarized themselves with the ship, its systems and its weapons, but also that the ship has integrated with the helicopters, the landing craft and the amphibious vehicles that it carries, the expert said.

While military analysts expect that the Type 075 will play vital roles in possible operations on the island of Taiwan, as well as islands and reefs in the South China Sea, the Hainan will have missions that go further.

In addition to greatly enhancing the PLA Navy's amphibious combat capability, the Type 075 will also contribute to the force's strategy of far sea defense, Lü said on the CCTV program, noting that the ship can be self-sufficient in far sea areas for an extended period of time.

If needed, the Hainan will appear in any sea region in the world, Lü said.

Amphibious assault ships can not only conduct amphibious landing missions as part of traditional warfare, but also join anti-terrorism warfare and participate in many types of military operations other than warfare, such as disaster relief, humanitarian aid and evacuation of nationals, experts said.

The Hainan will visit harbors and ports all over the world, Lü said, noting that it will provide an outstanding image for the PLA Navy.

Knowing Hainan was commissioned on April 23, 2021, it takes about 10 months to reach IOC. When do we expect the other LHDs to reach IOC, knowing this is the first Chinese LHD and PLAN most likely was ironing out the bugs when translating theoretical planning to operational capability?
