Wasn’t that mostly from this fowl dragon’s breath engine start?
You can see significant staining even as it was first heading out to sea.
You can design your funnel any way you want, but it isn’t going to stop staining like that when the ship is starting and testing engines while berthed.
No. This was when she returned.
Its not a problem to modify the funnels with a cap to cant the exhaust to the side.

Another way is to put a funnel cap for a more backward direction,

They did something similar on the 055 right?
You can design your funnel any way you want, but it isn’t going to stop staining like that when the ship is starting and testing engines while berthed.
Or they could just paint the tower black like in Type-054AThey can probably ameliorate the problem by angling the exhaust stack outboard and further tilting the actual, internal funnels at an angle away from the forward mast. But that would probably require increasing the height of the stack, add weight, and change the balance of the ship somewhat, not to mention increase the cross section of the ship from certain directions, which might in turn impact the 'aerodynamics'. Or they may simply tilt/bend the internal funnels without changing the stack too much.
Or they could just paint the tower black like in Type-054A

Hot soot can still damage the radomes and the equipment in the mast which are ESM and is absolutely essential for the defense of the ship.
Just change the fairing or add funnel cap.

The Spanish Álvaro de Bazán class frigates suffered from smoke damage from their fore funnel until a new design was fitted.
Painting ship to hide sooth mark has been done in other navies as wellHot soot can still damage the radomes and the equipment in the mast which are ESM and is absolutely essential for the defense of the ship.
Just change the fairing or add funnel cap.
