072 class (and even smaller ships like 073 class) are actually perfect for Chinese needs up to the first island chain. They'd be crazy to let them go, unless we're talking about hulls 40-50 years old.

Interestingly, there were 6 recently built 072 hulls, commissioned in 2015/2016, so it seems PLAN does realize they're still quite worthy for the specific needs.

So the likes of 071 and 075 would better serve as additions to the existing fleet, rather than as replacements.

What is the possibility of Type 075 and Type 076 integrated to become double aircraft carrier?
Type 075 can then use Type 076's EMALS to launch its heavy aircraft ?

I do have to wonder just how many additional hulls are still planned for at this stage, given how this class of ships basically has a more capable successor design lined up already even before the first ship of its class has entered trials.

I think the 076 is intended to complement the 075, not replace.

The Type-075 represents a step-change in the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) amphibious warfare capabilities. It will enable better over-the-horizon landing capabilities and improve air cover. And there are already rumors of the

which is expected to include EMALS (Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System) for unmanned combat aerial vehicles or crewed aircraft. At this stage, these rumors should be treated with caution. But they do give an indication of the direction PLAN amphibious capabilities are going.
