If the picture is photoshopped, I'd say it's much better done than the J-10B pictures. Honestly, I can't find any clues that it's photoshopped. You can even find the faint reflections of the sailors and hovercrafts on the deck, and how the white waves interact with the 071.

If I were to guess from this picture alone, my guesstimate is it's the real thing.

If I were to guess from this picture alone, my guesstimate is it's the real thing.

The vessel is dock side...and it is likely that it is not PSd...more likely that it is simply staged for PR purposes.

Or that the small Type 724s were placed in there and then the deck all cleaned up and dried out for whatever reason.

But, IMHO, the original point still stands...during use and loading and unloading any craft or vessel, the well deck is going to be wet.

...and a good one it is. THe well deck does indeed get very wet.

Here is the way an LPD well deck looks when vehciles and vessels are coming and going...both large LCAC and smaller EFV type vehicles.

this is from the new HD location in Changxin island. Any guesses on what this is? Due to the shipyard and the size of the thing, my guess would be either 071 or LHD.

Are you sure the thing is a ship? It may be just a building

A bit of a aimless question, but why does the 071 class use a wooden flight deck?

I mean, some of their older Amphibious assault ships use metal flight decks, and out comes this new LPD with a wooden one...

Or does it being wooden or metallic matter?

Bltizo since when wood has rust on it?? Look closely at the pic to the left, there you will see rust.

But is having a wooden flight deck (that doesn't rust) a worthwhile tradeoff over a metallic one, which has it's... own good qualities?
