re: PLAN Type 071 LPD & its Landing Craft
ohh well Popeye, when did you serve on US ships, in 70s ? .. The world has moved on significantly since then, you just can't use your "OLD" experiences and use it to current situation. I know it may be hard for you, but you just have to accept it
You don't even know me and are making a statement like this. I'm a very flexible person...and yes I can except change.
A quote from George Santayana.
George Santayana (16 December 1863 in Madrid, Spain – 26 September 1952 in Rome, Italy), was a philosopher, essayist poet and novelist.
Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
You very wrong in that thinking. My experience in serving is timeless. Trust me. I served with the USN from 1971 until 1991 on five CVs and several shore stations.. How many days have you spent at sea? The USN has changed significantly since I retired in 1991. But operating a ship is basically the same. It really is. My son served with the USN from 1998 until 2007. And after speaking with him many times about his service..life at sea has not changed much.
Another thing..if you don't like my little sea stories I interject from time to time..don't read them.
