I've got a question: It seems that the 30mm cannon can be used for air defense against slow, low-flying targets, what about the 14.5mm machine gun that are used on some of the 056s in place of the 30mm cannons? Can they be used for air defense as well?

Given that the machine gun is manual instead of remote control like the 30mm autocannon, it's intended use is probably against small surface targets with the HQ-10 handling air threats.

The other Type 056A corvette is 506 "Jingmen":

The big door on the back is for the VDS. There are two small rectangular ports at the back. The lower one is no doubt for the TAS, but the upper one should be for a towed array decoy.
