13th 056 Corvette joins the PLAN fleet on the morning of the 11th June at a naval base at Sanya, South China Sea Fleet.

Ship number:- 589

Name:- Qingyuan

So, after what appeared to be a quieter time for 056 commissioning............we have had 2 056's joining the fleet this June.

As there appears to of been several 056's starting construction at a similar time, and looking at the launching dates, one can pretty well assume another 2 056's will join the fleet this summer........and then a few more towards the end of the year.

Remember that 056 with the large cut out at the stern from a while back?

Looks like a VDS to me

Probably 10's of centremeters. So 58 would be 5.8meters from bottom of hull. Plausible as draft of 056 is about 4m which will be 40 on the waterline.

I think you are partially right. I think the 58 does represent 5.8 meters, but there are no 10s of centimeters involved. Googling showed me there is the metric system which is what we see here and the English system which would be in Roman numerals.

I mean 10s of centimetres as in the reading 58 times 10 gives you 580cm = 5.8 metres.
