I don't think the type 056 is any more complex than the type 054A and also smaller. They can build them now if priorities for them are high enough and there is enough resources to go around.

It is not as if I have been gazing into some chrystal ball: I still use the list posted by A. Man in the 052(C) thread as # 460 on 18 Nov. 10 (page 31) as a guideline to the development of China's surface combatant fleet.

As per above PIC (2nd), it seems PLAN have revised their 056 design. looks pretty cool.
