I've been hearing rumors about 057 super destroyer but no hard evidence. Any idea?
I'm not sure about the "057 super destroyer", both the claimed designation and the ship type - But I suppose you got the rumor from here?

In the meantime, we do know that the successor classes to the 052D-class and 055-class are indeed in the works (according to pop3):
2, the new model of 6,000-ton destroyer is not just a mere "L", but a real new model with a substantial increase in combat capability;

3, the successor model of Type 055 destroyer is already on the way, and this is not surprising. The development principle is "build one generation, develop one generation, pre-research one generation" (classic cliche). The strategic need has prompted to progress, while the outbreak of new technology has supported the progress;

However, there have been only bits and pieces of information and a few illustrations which can be remotely related to those projects. We may have to wait for some years before more details will appear.

This is a video from a little while ago I happened to stumble upon.

I post it here becuase at the 7;55 mark, there is a rather rare instance where we get to see the 130mm gun on 055 actually be fired multiple times in the same shot without cuts, which allows us to actually judge its firing rate.
They do three shots from 7:55 to 8:03, which is 8 seconds, so 3 rounds per 8 seconds, which in per minute is about 22-23 rounds per 1 minute, which is about what you'd expect

That's a good find. It's 3 rounds per 8 seconds only if you include the initial shot. If you use a stopwatch to measure time in between shots, the loading cycle is around 4 seconds which is 15 rounds per minute. Wouldn't be surprised if it went higher, really.
