So, how many 2nd batch 055s are under construction thus far? 1 or 2?
Since we still can't be quite sure of whether that bow section which emerged out underneath an assembly hall in Jiangnan belongs to a 052D or a 055.

If the entire propulsion system were to be changed to IEP, it would be a new class (even family) of warships. For example, the 051 series (original 051, 051A, 051C) all used steam turbine. The 052 series all used CODOG. The 055s used COGAG.
Maybe or maybe not depending if the electric motor is included in the definition of power plant which can be narrowly defined to the gas turbines while the electric motor is treated as gearbox and clutch.

Any particular reason the chap at 2:46 is standing in front of a picture of HMS Invincible returning from the Falklands War? I mean, there may have been some Hong Kong laundrymen aboard, but that's a pretty tenuous link to PLAN.055 demonstrate capability what interesting at 6:06 and 6:21 we can see Z20 ASW helicopter deployed.
