I believe this was taken by a commercial satellite, and they are not being tracked, since there are no water ripples, the ships were anchored away from docks to avoid typhoon

If the Chinese leadership is not outright assuming that their forces are being monitored in almost real time they are doing something very wrong.

The fifth Type 055 (Renhai-class) destroyer on order for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has been launched at the Jiangnan Changxingdao shipyard near Shanghai.

Work is now continuing in the fitting-out basin, as shown in commercial satellite imagery captured on 18 September.

The launch was not covered by official Chinese media but the satellite imagery shows that it occurred between 7 and 18 September, with some Chinese social media sites claiming that it took place on 12 September.

Displacing more than 10,000 tonnes, the Type 055 is the largest destroyer built for the PLAN. Its vertical launch system (VLS) comprises 112 cells from which surface-to-air, anti-ship, anti-submarine, and land-attack missiles can be launched.

Satellites have some lag time. Not much, but some. Still makes most of them not that relevant for moving targets, best you can do is draw a 500km x 500km square on the map from where you saw the CVBG 1 day ago.

I'm saying the picture was taken on the 18th September, which the article says as well, and is also present on the picture in two locations.

Come on, what else could my 18th September have referred to...

What are those strange things that were marked with red dots in the picture? Are they unicorns? Fancy seeing these mystical creatures there.

I'm not sure if you're deliberately being facetious or not, but they're meant to signify 726 LCACs as shown obviously by the key in the bottom left corner.

If there's something so obvious and blatant on a picture like strange dots it's usually a good idea to closely look at the picture to see if there's an associated explanation for it.

Interesting. I wonder if US spy satellites are constantly watching most Chinese vessels, live tracking some of them in case something happens and they need to know where they are.

Is it possible to shoot those spy satellites? Does the Chinese track ships of foreign enemies?
