Well, if Spruance carried 1600 tons of fuel and reached 8000 tons with it, Then I guess 055 could roughly be carrying 3000 tons of fuel if its max displacement is some 12,000 tons. Ballast water is usually up to 30-50% of total cargo (couldn't find any actual figures for warships though). Even if there's not much fuel in 055 in that image, there should be ballast water instead. At least 1 ton worth of fuel or ballast water. Still not precise enough to conclude anything. Empty displacement possibly 8000-9000 tons, depending on max displacement?

Similar to our existing "drive through" 052D, the 055 destroyer has also adopted the 346A improved radar as the main radar. Before launching the 052C/D model in Jiangnan Changxing, the antenna was usually not equipped with a four-sided phased array radar antenna, and the cover plate was used to cover the installation position of the radar, and the antenna was installed in place during the outfitting process.

The 346A improved radar has been installed in place when the ship is launched.

If the 055 is indeed using the "346A" radar, then the largest panel on the mast is highly unlikely to be an "X-band" radar, since the 346A is a dual S/C-band radar with the C portion being used for fire control and probably other functions like horizon/surface search and limited volume search. On the other hand if the largest panel on the mast is indeed an X-band radar, then it is highly unlikely that the 055's radar is a "346A" radar; it must be some kind of new radar that only has S-band T/R modules, a "346B" (or whatever).

FYI this photo has been photoshopped, and rather crudely at that. The hull 'crease' has been shifted upwards to where everyone originally thought the 055's crease was going to be. IMO it does look more aesthetically pleasing like this, though.

good catch IM, though one wonders why anyone would PS something like this. It adds zero value and in my mind anyway doesn't add anything to whatever narrative the artist was trying to intent.

My theory would be ECM.

I know the array seems a bit large to be ECM, as previously discussed but it can also be because the array might also cover a very wide spectrum instead of just jamming missile seeker bands.

ESM/SIGINT maybe?

Indeed, this is a PSed version of a previous photo I shared. I somehow missed this, thinking it was taken at a different angle. The PSed part was likely done to demonstrate how a different 'waistline' would look and how it would taper into the bow section.
