In 29th October, 2021, XX船球鼻艏导流罩 and XX船超材料高透波共形桅杆, both posted by cssc hps, from Military Tenders Website.

What does that mean?

Again, please read the forum rules, which state: "This is an English language forum. You may post in a any language, however provide an English translation for any non-English post and any links posted".

I believe "XX船超材料高透波共形桅杆" can be more precisely translated as "

conformal mast for a certain ship".

"XX船球鼻艏导流罩" doesn't refer to a spherical sonar dome; it literally means "bulbous bow cover".

More smoke from the rumor mills, and I wonder if there will finally be a fire.

Disclaimer: I can't vouch for the information myself because I no longer have access to the Haohan forum, so take it with a grain of salt.

The first image alleges that steel (CCS B grade) had been ordered in late March of 2022 and should be delivered before May 20th. Purchase orders for various subsystems began in October of 2021. Steel cutting to begin by end of May, launch to take place by end of 2023. Full displacement is to be 5000+ tons, with electric propulsion. It will feature a forward dual-face rotating AESA radar and an aft/midship integrated mast.

The last two images allegedly show a call for bids – placed on January 21, 2022 – for various software to be used, including combat direction software, electrical system control software, communications software, etc. Bids are to be awarded 10 months after their submission.

I agree, over the last year or so the noise has been building up, and this information is very much consistent with what we've been expecting.
Appreciate the screenshots and the translation.

In any case, to cross post what I wrote in a different thread a few months ago, about my "expectations/projections" for 054B, this is what I think would make for a reasonable 054B.

"
  • ~5,500t full displacement hull, enlarged and derived from 054/A hull
  • Diesel and gas turbine propulsion -- arranged either in some type of CODLAG or the long rumoured IEPS
  • Twin faced S band AESA (that we've seen on test ship 892 before), on an integrated mast, with or without an X band AESA (either fast rotating, below the S band array, or as four side fixed face)
  • 32 forward UVLS, 7m length
  • Either two quad AShM launchers aft, OR an aft 8 cell UVLS, 9m length
  • One helicopter hangar, with helipad, able to accommodate Z-20F/J
  • Overall more stealthy, cleaner, more integrated hull, deckhouse, smokestack and topside structures
  • Not sure about CIWS, main gun (maybe 76mm, though there was that rumour about 100mm being floated), and exact organic ASW suite (though obviously an evolved TAS, VDS and hull sonar suite is expected), but these aren't that important anyway.

Some of those timelines seem very compressed, but in truth I have no idea what the norm is for China's naval projects, and with the threshold dates so close we won't have long to wait...
