On balance the best navy workhorse on this blue planet. If an enhanced power plant allowed, put 130 gun on a slightly enlarged 5000T platform, along with existing VLS, AESA, 1130, HQ10, could be built by at least 3 shipyards with unit cost below USD 300mil. Add AI augmented automation and cut down below 50 sailors per ship. I would post that picture in my bedroom over any manned surface ship.

Everything else you mentioned is good, but having only 50 sailors/crew is too low for a warship of such size. Even the highly-automated Mogami FFG with 5500 tons of full-load displacement is crewed by 90. AI is not all-capable - For instance, while I can certainly envision AI to have an important role to play in damage control, they can be useful mostly in terms of assistance, not doing the actual things themselves, as you'd still need men to physically plug the holes and seal the watertight doors while still command and manning the battle stations in the heat of battle at the same time.

I'd expect a crew of about 100 for the 054B FFG, assuming it has the same level of automation as the Mogami FFG.

50 or fewer crew per ship would be more suitable for FFLs and large-sized USVs.

Not to go off topic, but once that dam goes up the chances of India joining a war against China decreases to near zero.

You are certainly right about the statistics, but here in the West two frigates in 054B service with these characteristics in 4-5 months is currently pure science fiction. They are simply impossible to replicate. I am talking about shipyard management, assembly, laying, launch management, sea trials, acceptance.

In US and Russia (curse of 1st cold war, haha).

Several mid level navies run exactly such frigate programs at a good tempo.

Well it's relative, they are faster than USN's Constellation class debacle and inadequately funded Russian navy but they're not quite as fast as PLAN.
