apparently photos from her sea trials showed the missile exhaust deflector sleds, so it is likely slant launchers.Still no slanted launchers installed. I think this convinces me that that there is another VLS midship, hopefully universal VLS
100% agreed, especially if they end up using YJ-83 missiles.I think the hull itself is pretty promising but this is under armed for its size.
Could they be EW arrays?

U-VLS? I thought the 054B uses HQ-16 VLS. What I meant was if the 054B uses YJ-83 in the canisters, it would be a bit disappointing, especially when you consider the Pakistani 054A using YJ-12 in the canisters.U-VLS won't rule out use of YJ-83. Those Zhuhai exhibit displays show pics and models of the YJ-83 inside U-VLS. Don't underestimate what missiles of this type can do, especially if they have a ground mode. The Russian and Ukrainian equivalent, the Uran and Neptun, has taken out air defense systems and radars. In a scenario where lets say, you need to take out coastal antiship missile batteries and air defense systems, these can be used in that manner.
Would that imply 054A and 054B in China can do the same, just a matter of budget priority?U-VLS? I thought the 054B uses HQ-16 VLS. The role difference requires different weapon configuration. Type 054A variant of Pakistan navy are their largest war ships, they are using them like destroyers since their potential enemy is India which has substancial number of destroyers and aircraft carrier. Thus they choose YJ-12 for its long range and larger warhead.U-VLS? I thought the 054B uses HQ-16 VLS. I'm not sure, but it could just be the same and with better sensors and more space for the sailors and supplies.Would that imply 054A and 054B in China can do the same, just a matter of budget priority?
That makes sense. The role difference requires different weapon configuration. PLA Navy has type 055 and type 052D for offensive attacks on surface targets among other roles, their frigates like type 054A and type 054B are given perimeter defense roles, with anti-submarine being given higher priority than anti-surface.
How come the PLAN never upgrade the YJ-83 to something faster like the CM-400AKG or something of a similar size? It's more than possible for ships to have two different VLS systems, there's quite a few real world examples.
Whether or not the ship will have YJ-12 slant launchers we will see.
YJ-12 is mainly deep sea deep strike antiship capability while YJ-83 offers anti littoral and antiground capabilities. Give for an example, what if Japan arms the Ryukus Islands with mobile antiship and anti aircraft missile batteries. The dual role capabilities gives you the option to take these targets out. So it won't disappoint me if they did arm for the dual role YJ-83.
