This should have been posted in August 1. The 28th Escort Task Force including Type 054A frigates 546 and 550, make technical stop in Indonesia. These ships are headed home after their long deployment around Africa.

30th Escort Task Force heading out to the Gulf of Aden. Consists of frigates 539 Wuhu and 579 Handan. This is the Handan's first deployment to the Gulf of Aden. 960 Dongpinghu will be the oiler.

From Pakdef posted by LKJ86 and courtesy of the JSMDF, a PLAN task force enters near the Japanese archipelago in international waters under right of passage. Plus one more, Frigate 539 for the 30th Escort Task force as she readies to leave.

There was another exercise involving an air defense anti missile competition involving over a dozen warships. A Type 054A provides a YJ-83 target for Type 056s to shoot at with their HQ-10s. Overall another busy day in the lives and careers of these hardworking frigates.
