now a similar type of picture, from London:

source is inside in what I posted 6 minutes ago

This is 5 minutes from where I work; my desk is probably in view hahaa - I will see if I can sneak out and take some pictures tomorrow. I tried to get tickets to go on board via friends at the Embassy but it was very limited; its only open to the general public on Thursday from 3-5pm (when I will be working).

I also know the person who is acting as the guide for the sailors who are having a great time in London - will post pictures if I end up taking any.

Quite a sight to behold - 150 years ago British gunboats were bombarding ports in my motherland and forcing heroin down our throats at gunpoint - now we have gleaming Chinese frigates sailing down the river Thames and docking at Canary Wharf while the Royal Navy can barely pay for the fuel for their ships to travel to China - how times have changed eh?

For number clear same for submarines... ! but all combattants are of 1st rank the Amazon, Leander was less capable.

China have end 1980's about 20 Luda/051 and IIRC one other class with some for MSC also more big number of submarines SSK than now about 70 vs now about 55, new ships are also more expensive...
Same for fighters, tanks the numbers also decreased ofc much less than in Europe, the reasons are different, for one other topic.
I think it's pretty evident that right now China is aiming for both quantity and quality. They have to plan for a worst case scenario where they might have to contest with most of the navies their region within the scope of a single conflict. I wouldn't take China's naval ambitions or its willingness to eat costs for naval supremacy lightly. Maintaining control of the seas across the old world may just be the most essential national security concern for them in the new century.

Royal Navy [....] Future will be 6 + 13= 19

China has 6 x Type 052C and 13 x Type 052D

Matches RN With just 2 classes of DDG you can forget adding in Type 055 etc

.... in 2020.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. In 2017 China has 6 052Ds and the UK has zero operational aircraft carriers.

Regarding British carrier, 1 in sea trial since June 2017 and the other one is still in construction

So, there is none in operational yet! .. how did you get that 2 in service ? :p:p:p ... a bit surprised that you didn't know of this very obvious thing ;)
