Offered no evidence on the claim of Russian's help on the hull design except pictorial "proof". No evidence on the claim of reverse engineered VLS system (from which VLS system? MK41? Russian doesn't have a hot launched system)

Wouldn't reverse engineering a VLS system mean they were able to get one in their hands to disassemble?

Yeah, using the phrase reverse engineering is inappropriate in this case. The Chinese probably got some idea from studying how the Russian and US VLS system works and did their own design. But that's not reverse engineering.

As far as we know 18 054A's have been reported by the Chinese as commissioned, the last 2 were commissioned on the 16th Jan 2015. These were as follows:-

576 Daqing & 577 Huanggang.

The 19th and 20th vessels have been completed, and have had their pennant no's painted on.........BUT there hasn't so far been any reports that these ships have been commissioned yet, though it is speculated that both these two ships will join the fleet by the end of the year!

The ships in question are 578 Yangzhou & 579 Handan.

576, 577, 578 and 579 should be denoted with different designation since they are ASW enhanced variant of 054A, also upgraded with 11 barrel H/PJ14 CIWS.

Pending official announcement, for my own reference I put them under temporary 054A2 category in my photo folder.

Are you sure?..........there's no commissioning ceremonial flags here.............and no one has reported the event...........unless you can give us the source. We have been down this route many times lately. This is the 20th vessel, so when was the 19th commissioned?
btw:- is it me, or does that pennant number seem to of been put on quite high up on the hull, compared to the other ships in the class?

My apologies!

With further detailed checking, i can confirm vessel '579' has been commissioned today, as the 19th 054A, and will be joining the Northern Fleet.
It was finished earlier than vessel '578', which is predicted to join the fleet in a couple of months time.

Regarding 054B:

1. It was called 057 at first but changed to 054B. because certain someone think is not possible at this time and probably needs a few more year. (My guess is some new system not ready?)

3. No shield and look identical to the newest variant of 054A from the outside, no need for shield as there are too many shields already. Cost less money and faster. (This means no Type-45 DDG style integrated mast?)

4. Pretty much same tonnage as 054A but with newest weapons and electronic.

5. Won't start until the end of 2016 the earliest. Might buid at the same time as the last few 054A.

6. Eight more 054A or being ordered( 24+8=32 054A then?)
