I've read it, but can't find any concrete information from it:(
The TLDR, the author thinks:
1) the PLAN likely feels the baseline 346 MFR is on the primitive side as far as AESA MFRs go and will update it to a newer radar, which I suspected might be the case.
2) the forward 6x6=36 revolver VLS updated to the 8x4=32 UVLS standard is doable, but he also thinks the aft 6x2 revolver VLS will be too expensive to update to the UVLS due to perceived need for structural changes, which I think is actually doable as the space looks like it's there to do so without too much change.
3) the 2 quadruple YJ-62 slant launchers will be updated to YJ-12.
4) the aft Type 730 CIWS will be replaced by a 24 round HHQ-10 SRSAM slant launcher.
5) the Type 517HA 2D early warning radar will be replaced by the JY-27HA 3D early warning radar.
6) there may be possible hangar changes to allow the operation of the Z-20.

On page 10 in the last paragraph towards the end, they state "and it also has the potential to install 2-4 small launch boxes in one unit". Is that possible? If so, where exactly? The space in between the exhaust and air-search radar? That's not something I knew the 052D could possibly do if needed.

The writer is referring to notional quad-pack capability on the UVLS as used on Type 052D and 055.

The text is mostly speculative and treats known ground. The only stand out for me was the author referring to the 052DL "fly squatter" radar as the Type JY-27HA. I've never seen this designation before (the JY-27 is of course a known land-based VHF radar). Perhaps @Tam can opine on this.

Yes, he is referring to the quad-packability of the UVLS. Though I don't think anyone knows for sure if the "FM-3000N" is actually in use in the PLAN at this time.

Ah, I misread then. Thank you.
