Any idea why the rear 3 052DLs' construction progress seems rather slow?
What would they do with the outer dry dock now that the outer two ships have launched?
Will they just let it sit unused until the 3 ships in the inner dry dock are launched? If so, they would just be wasting dry dock space. It's generally easier to do work in dry dock than after a ship is launched, so they would have been better off just keeping the 2 052DLs that just launched in dry dock longer.
Thus, it would only make sense if they are going to use the outer dry dock to build additional ships. It would then also make sense that the inner 3 ships are progressing much slower as they will only be launched when the new set of ships in the outer dry dock are launched.
So my guess is that we are looking at a batch of 8 ships in total being constructed at Dalian and there will be another 3 new 052DLs starting construction in the outer dry dock soon. Perhaps we will get to see six 052DLs launching at the same time!
Thanks, I wasn't aware of that possibility. Are the inner hulls placed over wheeled platforms or can they still be moved with the crane?Check what they did before in the mid/late 2010s for DL there.
After the launch of the outer hulls, they would then remove the barrier, move the inner half drydock hulls to the outer half of the drydock, and start construction of new hulls in the newly vacated inner half.

Do the APAR plates seem larger and of a different shape to anyone else or is it just me.
yes I know they are just temp coverings, but they seem different from the previous builds.
