052C/052D Class Destroyers

Ah, and this also kinda disproves Henri K.'s assertion that the 052D can only load the YJ-18 at the cells immediately in front of the CIWS platform due to length. We see that the missile is fired from the dead center most cell of the entire complex.

I wonder if there is a land attack version of the YJ-18, as its Russian counterpart does. Also, when the U.S. DoD said that the YJ-18 has a range of more than 500km, could that mean while the land attack variant has such long range (or more), the anti-ship variant only has 220-300km?
The "500km" quote would correspond to the antiship variant since that is roughly the antiship Klub's range, while the LACM variant of the Klub has a range variously quoted as between 1,500km to 2,500km.

The Klub is a very long missile, but a relatively thin one (533mm) as it needs to be compatible with torpedo tubes.

A Chinese ship-only successor missile would raise the diameter, utilizing cold launch, and have even more range than the Russian domestic version.

But I personally hope for a Chinese LRASM of some sort, that still retains the supersonic terminal stage.
Probably even thinner than that because tube-launched ASCMs are typically encased in a capsule that is shed as the missile exits the water.

A speculative article from a few months ago claimed that a land attack variant could already exist and that it might have a range of 1400-1500 km. Henri K. himself believes that a land attack variant is under development.

It certainly make sense to "streamline" these naval missiles to a common family, but I still feel that they could've made a VLS-launched variant of the CJ-10.

I thought the original Klub only has a range of around 220km. However, I do not exclude the possibility that China upgraded both the engine, fuel and composite material of the SinoKlub to allow the latter to travel beyond 220km.

I thought the 052D's VLS is not long enough for CJ-10, which require a 9 meters launch tube. I heard that the 052D could only house 7 meters VLSs. However, the 055 would be big enough to house the 9 meters launch tubes.

IIRC i have see 052C can have a crane ? which allow reloading for S-300FM/SA-N-20 DDG 051C also ? still curious with such big missiles especialy long 7,5 m ?

S-300FM/SA-N-20 is ABM as S-300PMU-1/2 up to 40 km vs aerial targets 150 km use 48N6 missile.
S-300F/SA-N-6 is not ABM as first S-300 except S-300V/SA-12B on tracked T-72 hull TEL.

Crane is stored onboard the ship.
