This is not really an answer to his question, since it looks like baseline 9 is essentially for new build Burkes and for Ticos that aren't going to receive a BMD update (baseline 7). The only exception seems to be the 9C, and that only applies to previously upgraded Burkes that have BMD. Baseline 9 does not seem to include any Burkes that do not have a BMD update nor any Ticos that already have or will receive a BMD update.

First time seeing an entire group of 052D VLS modules fully opened.

Compared with 054A's VLS:

Basically, there is even less overhang of lid over the cell opening than on previous vls system. Of course, individual cells still need to be loaded inside. Those likely differ in width depending on missile type and launch type.

It seems logical to me that the paper on this vls refered to cell opening width when it said 850 mm. Insides of actual cell widths are still a mystery.

This is not really an answer to his question, ...
hold it, my question again (the answer should be important here, the context being the discussion of a perceived/assumed/implied superiority/inferiority of USN/PLAN):

One more thing, how many agies got updated from their 1980's computer?

Iron Man is correct that one radar being AESA and one radar being PESA does not automatically suggest that the former is superior to the latter.

However there is no public indication, nor little theoretical reason to imagine that Type 346 lags SPY-1x in any respect, including supporting software. Immature software support may have been relevant in the early days of Type 346, but at this point we are more than a decade on from the system's first fielding on 052C.

There are diminishing returns in software development -- the task of tracking, intercepting targets is not an open-ended problem -- and I suspect we are well past the point where the greater "maturity" of vanilla Aegis is outweighed by the inefficiencies and bootstraps required to maintain and extend aged software architecture.

Huh? Your answer to his question of were the 80's tech Burkes updated was basically a baseline update that included no 80's tech Burkes, which were instead updated by baselines 6, 7, and 8.

The only unequivocably correct thing that can be said with any certainty is that AESA is not automatically superior to PESA. ANYTHING else is conjecture, including the level of software development and the effect of legacy software on effectiveness, or whether there is even any legacy software remaining after 6-9 new baselines, and given that Aegis has already shifted completely from mil spec architecture to 100% COTS open architecture.

an example of the answer: 50
I'm pretty sure I gave the answer to that question already. All of them have been updated to baseline 6, some are currently being or have been updated to baseline 7 and 8, and it looks like some but not all will be updated to baseline 9 (in the future); the particular upgrades depend on whether we are talking Ticos or Burkes, and whether the ship is designated to receive BMD. I have already said all of this previously, not sure what you are still missing here.
