Added: the ship is called after ship(s) of the line from before 1795 when this was the official name of the Dutch republic.

It's still quipped with gun based CIWS and its new APARs look huge....

I alawys thought 052C/D class is class is very similar to De Zeven Provinciën class in design thought and layout. both are codag, moderately sized hull. with an intended air defense roll. original type 052 hull was also heavilyinfluenced by euro naval vessel design at that time.
