The FIVE!, Fabulous Five! LOL
Five during the parade, but seven in practice. Did two go tech? Or were they standby birds all along?
Two were there flying next to the five... showing off their cloaking abilities 
But yes seven would have been nicer. Probably backups like you mentioned. The significance of having seven is redundant since the formation of "70" flying by sort of started and stopped the symbolic meaning.
