Dare I say if that were a pretext to a J-10C purchase by Pakistan Air Force. I have always thought that this was a great fighter fit for Pakistan Air Force along with JF-17s. But now that the Block-lll is expected to come online this year. I wonder whether there could be a CFT version with Chinese engines that Pakistan Air Force may consider? Whatever the case, the J-10C and the MiG-35s are built for an Air Force like Pakistan's. We shall see what the future holds, hopefully a bright one!

I'm sure the PAF would love to have the J-10C, but it's very expensive to incorporate any new platform. The funds they have available will probably be reserved now for a 5th gen option, which they're calling 'Project Azm.' That's gonna take a lot of money and resources.

So which one is it? In the J-20 thread the part about 500th plane said it was J-11. Here it is translated as 500th J-10.
And It said it happened on the anniversary of first flight. For J-10 it was march of 1998. So in theory that could be J10. Even though wiki states march 23rd, which hasn't happened yet. And that date is based on some news article on Sina so the credibility of it all leaves much to be desired.

But 500th J-11 just doesn't make much sense. Even assuming that earlies Su-27 from Russia were labeled as J-11, that's something like 175 J-11 (produced, not in service now) plus some ~200 J-11B. Unless the author somehow mean flanker family as a whole, which could include 60-80 or so J-16, so something like 440. But then by the same logic russian made Su-30 should be included as well, going to 540 already in service (plus production ones not in service yet bringing the tally to 560+ or so)

With J-10 the math seems more straightforward. By my calcuations, there was some 250-260 J10/A put into service. As well as some 70-ish J-10S put into service. And some 120 B/C models. That works out to ~450 in service that we know of. Those numbers are based on Scramble.nl ORBAT. Which may be lagging behind. It wouldn't be unrealistic at all that it was lagging behind by a year. So there was actually closer to ~480 planes in service. And then since we're talking about production and not in-service planes, it's plausible, though a bit stretched, that 500th plane was hit.

I fully agree with you even if 500 J-10s of all variants altogether is not unlikely IMO.

My point however is, how reliable is the original post or the poster of this news, that also reported the start of "full serial production" for the J-20?

someone commented that PLAAF pilots appeared chubby? Dude, heres the lower G suit, that's really all anybody wears these days except F-22 pilots also have a vest! (the source of many of those complaints of lack of O2, the release valve was not properly releasing the pressure)

anyway, with your lower G suit and a leather flight jacket, everyone would appear chubby, this gent is wearing his over his "flight suit".....
