they can't and won't. platform software monetizes what would otherwise be free. that's kind of like taxation. in every era, tax collectors are the highest paid, as they are the ones who enable the kings, ministers, priests and knights.
No it can't be reformed. It will take decades for the US to rebuild their manufacturing sector and de-financialize their economy. In the meantime, China will not sit on their laurel to wait for the US to catch up. The US wants the easy way out by provoking a war over the Taiwan Strait:

VP at Qualcomm get paid 300k while average senior at FAANG has packages ranging from 270k-400k+ and VP at FAANG probably make 7 digits. Even a non-senior engineer at FAANG would make around 250k.
Wow is it really that low the salaries for chip/semiconductor engineers? These people are super geniuses, no wonder here in australia, Chinese people loathe working in corporate, i know a couple of Chinese self employed tradies doing simple plastering, painting, making like 300k aud a year
I'm a process engineer working in O&G, and makes 150k+ a year, not including bonuses. Another cousin of mine works for Facebook as a project engineer, he got a PhD in materials, and makes 200k/y. His wife who got a master's in CS makes around 150k.
VPs are middle management, honestly a dime a dozen these days. In O&G any decent GM or VP salary start at 500k.
That sounds about right. Some people in tech do earn a lot but $150k is not common at all. And I don't think Silicon Valley is a good place to live.
