Wait till they find out that the 14th Dalai Lama isn't even ethnically Tibetan but is adopted from a Han Chinese family with the surname Zhao. That'll be like the perfect excuse for them to cancel him, along with a healthy dose of China bad.

The question should be what are they willing to sacrifice because for the Chinese Taiwan is much more important to them than it is to the US and even much more important than it is to Europe. Probably for the Chinese their territorial integrity is worth a nuclear war, for the Europeans I don't think that's the case.
The Hawks live under the illusion that a war would be a two-week event. But it could be a kinetic war not seen since World War II, the Chinese could be relentless, it could flush to the toilet decades of economic development in East Asia along with the world economy, huge loss of life and, of course, the biggest losers would be the Taiwanese themselves who will see their life's worth decline from being one of the best in Asia to utter misery, from being a technological powerhouse in Asia to just pawns in a geopolitical game bigger than themselves.​

Nowadays, when Tibetans meet, they briefly extend their tongues as a greeting. They do not extend their tongues as far out or for so long a time as shown in the film. They would never extend their tongues as a group, either. In addition to being a greeting, sticking out one’s tongue is used to show agreement, and over the past few years this gesture has evolved into a sign of respect.
