Basing defenses around nukes would be an admission of conventional inferiority. Not that there's anything wrong with that. You can still win the cold war even with conventional inferiority if you have economical superiority.

Having more nukes has nothing to do with "conventional inferiority" - if you take a look at the military power, then practically all nuclear-armed states have superior conventional militaries as well. All of them use nukes for deterrence, including the US. Having a large nuclear stockpile as well as means of delivering them is important to ensure the MAD scenario and make the enemy more cautious in their calculations towards a military conflict, which ultimately might prevent the war at all, or stop them from lashing out & issuing nuclear threats in case of conventional defeat.

Even the hothead Kim the grandson, and the even hotter one his sister, could not be bothered to make a rebuttal.

This past few days we have seen stories about:

• shoot people in the head
• South Korea open to the suggestion of a two front war
• Americans nukes for all allies

Now look, do not think this is normal, because it is not. Hehe.

It's kind of unhinged.

Like, what happened? As far as I can tell, nothing happened.

No one has even launched a winter offensive in the Ukraine! That war has been deadlocked for a few months now, with an establish front, and troop dug int.

So what is with this propaganda offensive?

Are the Americans trying to justify sending tanks to the Ukraine?

But, like, no one cares, other than us war nerds.

Okay, maybe Canada cares, because Justin PM has okayed sending four tanks. Like, that is four tanks, eh.



Remember Pelosi's trip to Taiwan.

Remember the PLA exercises that followed, including firing missiles directly over Taiwan, the intention is to show how to sink unfriendly ships in that area, and having those test shots land relatively near Japan, sort of like a warning?

Remember all that?

Does anyone remember all that crazy American propaganda too?

No. Because there was none.

They did not want to high-lite the extent of those Chinese exercises, and avoid any questions about their response to it.

So why all this crazy propaganda now, when nothing happen? No winter offensive, (not yet), not much happening elsewhere either.

Something is out of whack here.

This is the kind of over sensationalising heading the MSM is famous for. As people tend not to actually read the article but only the heading, people would think Putin was serious about the threat, but Boris stated in the article Putin was just playing along and not serious. Shame on you BBC, well that's expected I suppose.

This is the kind of over sensationalising heading the MSM is famous for.

That is what I mean, the crazy propaganda.

Could it be that the unwashed masses are losing interest in this war in Ukraine, and will not be interested as a looming recession is a more urgent matter?

Crazy propaganda is a sign of weakness, and not strength.

A lot of young people in S Korea seem to be pretty unhappy with society and life in general. Some of the sentiments are echoed in China (too much competition) but Chinese in general are more optimistic. People tend to blame external sources and China is a big scapegoat. Not much different than Americans blaming Chinese for "stealing our jobs", which easily transitions people to become war hawks.

S Korean public in general have absolute faith in US military dominance. By this logic, who doesn't want to join the winning side and share the spoils of war, and crush the bourgeoning giant next door? The really detached from reality nationalists think their navy can blockade Bohai and strangle China. Obviously the country's leaders are not hot-headed like that, but unfortunately conflict can't be ruled out in the future.

Strategy wise this is an attempt by the US to divert attention of the PLA's powerful NTC to focus on S Korea. S Korea doesn't have to intervene to draw Chinese forces away from concentrating on the main battlefield.

No wonder Kpop fan groups (especially famous ones like the BTS Army fanbase) are just so fvcking toxic...

Key lawmaker: Biden mulling broad prohibitions on U.S. investments in Chinese tech​

The administration is considering a more aggressive walling off of American capital flows into Chinese high-tech sectors than previously known, says House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul.

The White House is considering new action to block U.S. business with entire swaths of the Chinese tech economy — an investment blockade stricter than previously reported — according to the new chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and four other congressional and former national security officials.

For months, Biden’s team has considered new oversight or rules on American investments in China. But House Foreign Affairs Chair Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said in an interview that he has learned in recent conversations that the administration is considering a complete ban on U.S. investments in certain high-tech areas of the Chinese economy. While the administration has said before that it would examine U.S. investments in certain sectors, the possibility of sector-wide prohibitions on American capital flowing into China has not been previously reported.

The Biden administration “is talking about a theory where they would stop capital flows into sectors of the economy like AI, quantum, cyber, 5G, and, of course, advanced semiconductors — all those things,” said McCaul, recalling recent meetings with administration officials. “They actually want to say, right, you can’t invest in any [Chinese] company that does AI. You can’t invest in any company does cyber” or other similar sectors.

I remember there is a saying that comes out after the 2021 China-US Summit in Anchorage, which goes:
"In China, the elder generations always strive to make things/life easier for the younger generations to handle. In the US, the elder generations always strive to make things/life more difficult for the younger generations to handle."

Financial decoupling is next.

When the time comes and the US decides to decouple financially from China, I hope that an alternate financial system by China+Global South, such as the digital yuan system, would be readily applied for usage across the world.

How big are the investments from the US in those Chinese high tech sectors are taking up right now?

Also, I think China should be prepared for the US lackeys in Europe and WestPac to do the same as well, sooner or later. The idea is that once investments in China from these countries "allied" to the US have dried up, they would be prime and ready for war against China and the Chinese people.
