But speaking at the APEC meeting in Bangkok, Mr Albanese said the agreement was only for "recognised" nation-states, rather than economies.
"The CPTPP is a relationship between nation-states which are recognised," he said.
"Taiwan is represented here (at APEC) as an economy."
Hmmmm interesting. Looks like that meeting with Xi had quite an effect huh?

It does invite comparison with that infamous photo:

All these are just act to get back on good term so that China can bring them out of the looming recession, just like the 2008-2009 financial crisis trigger by US mortgage collapse. Once all are up and good in the next economic cycle, they will show their true face just as how they circa 2014-2015 in starting a new round of China containment effort.

For me without the ASEAN onboard, The Pacific Pivot is Dead on Arrival. ;)

From the 5 eyes to QUAD to AUKUS, my opinion it will be just the US and Australia. My suggestion IF I'm part of the CCP think tank, I will arm Indonesia to the teeth and make her richer. That will leave the US alone to confront China as the Aussies will be more concern on what happening on their backyard rather than involve themselves in any American misadventure, same with NK regarding SK and Japan.

That is how you play geopolitics, make trouble on your adversary backyard.:)

You know that saying? 摔杯为号. When you got your nemesis lured into your tent and having meal and you throw out your cup, that means right at that moment you got to have all your people rush in with sword and axes and the other guy have to die right there and then.

Instead what US is doing is all the running dogs have charged into the tent sword in hand, and instead he picks up the cup on the ground, tells everyone to put down their weapon and keep the feast going, all while China is recording down who's up to this.

You think after all the back and forth between competing with China and working with China the US is going to get another shot at this? Well Scholz has already made his move sometime ago and now we're seeing others following.

According to Macron, Australia’s initial deal with France was “not confrontational to China because they are not nuclear-powered submarines.” “But the choice made by [former] Prime Minister [Scott] Morrison was the opposite, re-entering into nuclear confrontation,” he said.
Macron also said at APEC that France basically wants to play a neutral and stabilizing role in the US-China rivalry over the Indo-Pacific. Although he uses some crude analogies lol
"We are in the jungle and we have two big elephants, trying to become more and more nervous," Macron said in his speech, which he gave in English.
"If they become very nervous and start war it will be a big problem for the rest of the jungle. You need cooperation of a lot of other animals: tigers, monkeys, and so on."
