The way China is building up right now, it will not matter.

US is a federation empire, like the USSR. There are core territories and peripheral territories, such as Japan or Saudi for US and for USSR, Poland or Ukraine SSR.

China is not expecting to not fight any of the oligarchy's co-republics, it is a good bonus if they separate and betray the core territory's interest, but the principle manner in which the cold war is won is by surpassing all American subordinates, together, and then isolating them into uselessness. Naturally as that happens, some will rebel, hastening the process. But any smart planner wouldn't gamble the whole war on defections.

That is why, even after gaining a fair bit larger economy than America, China is still targeting further growth, further technological advances, diplomatic plays to hit NATO economies where it hurts and so on.

The thing is that regime change in the West isn’t going to have the same impact as some random Eastern European, African, or whatever. It will throw the global financial system and economy into total turmoil, which is obviously not in China interests. Just take a look at the economic and political turmoil the West is facing after trying to force a regime change in Russia.

That depends on the timeline and capability as most reactions are centered around what are already known as facts, more or less, and what it used to be viv-a-vis China, ie, today and in the recent memory. Vietnam didn't have much respect, if any, for China, at least militarily, back when China was about to start the opening. Not any more. That is the outcome of timeline and capability.

Western system are ossified now, and the elites seem to not care about necessary changes. Clearly, there are a lot of discontent. It may be cheaper that way to handle or manage future relations when conditions favor it, or at least it would be an another option.

Regime change from Anglo geopolitical perspective is less about actual regime change and more about creating chaos for the sake of control and above all, profit. The cia would much rather have Pakistan for eg in a constitutional crisis than actually have Pakistan as an ally because it serves Anglo interests in arresting BRI, the anglos would much rather Latin America under constant threat by cia armed and trained cartels and right wing death squads than a peaceful, developing neighbou.

It's my personal conviction that there will be a nuclear war within this century, as humans by nature cannot see what's the collective good for the species as a whole and act on it. Humans can hardly survive any nuclear war, given the ample evidence of the stupidity and intolerance shown abundantly in current Covid crisis. It's always individual rights first, without any attendant responsibility part. If a society, or a government, can't handle virus, you can't handle nuclear war, where far more chaos and destruction are afoot than staying home and binging on Netflix. If we could delay it, it's better. May be human would find some tech to move somewhere else. Responsible societies, like China, is the only best hope for humanity. So if China is able to change the thought process in western world, if at all, then I see it as a win for all, the greatest good for the greatest number.
