Arms sales to SA won’t be about profit, but geopolitical advantage.
Any Chinese arms sales to SA won’t include J16s or any flanker derivatives since that’s the agreement between China and Russia to not export Chinese flankers. However, J10s and J31/35s would likely be in the running.
This would in fact be ideal in one sense, in that Saudi would get geopolitical advantage from both China and Russia via a single purchase, rather than the usual route of buying fighter aircraft from UN Security Council members individually.
I don’t think it will happen though, I have been predicting for a while that J31/35 will be produced in Saudi.
Along with their already purchased ballistic missiles and laser defenses they will have a potent conventional deterrent to build on.
