Penghu is undefended right now. Degradation of ROCAF and ROCN will be a part of the campaign if Taiwan responds. What will the Chinese people think? They won't even care about sanctions. Believe me about this. Great powers' power depends on their credibility. It is the show up or put up time for the People's Republic.
As Andy Xie (Chinese economist) Chinese people are used to hardship, the Chinese people eat bitterness.

Would be nice for once for Chinese people to not need to endure hardship.

Regardless of the outcome, it is time for China (and all people who would like peace in the world) to consider the United States an existential threat, and prepare accordingly.

Doesnt it tell a lot about Chinas neighours that all of them know that Pelosi is fishing for trouble yet they're assisting her to complete her mission. Not one of them said that sorry please don't land here, you're out to cause chaos in the region.

But then again maybe those countries realised that US is the true top dog and if you really want to annoy anyone it better be China rather than US.

China has a massive trade surplus with India what’s not to like? India is making those demands due to a weakened position. Actually US would be more likely to sanction in case of a major China/India war than with a small island of an unofficial government. If the US really wanted to sanction any excuse would do. Again Taiwan can’t fight a war of attrition their resources would be depleted quickly and to supply them from the outside would be much more difficult than with India. Also don’t forget Taiwan would feel emboldened with a large ongoing war between China and India, two front wars should be avoided if possible.

If PRC actually got into a war with US over Pelosi's visit, there is a high chance that India would also make trouble for PRC at Galwan, taking advantage of the situation anyway. Two front war is still very much in the cards. Only in this case, India would have the initiative. When the possibility of two front war is high anyway, it would be smart to cripple a potential weaker adversary first, eliminate it from the board so to speak. AFAIK, US administration has made pledges to defend Taiwan and US hasn't made similar pledges to India.

Chinese are too nice to hold grudges. The United States behaves like the bully they are, and the mask has come off.

Oh please. A few bombs on their rear communication lines will stop them cold
