They learnt from the best. The Mongols.

Their current plan is to pull China into this as much as they can. They've lost all interest in defending the Ukraine. They will continue supplying AT missiles and stingers as Russia appears to tolerate it for now, as well as the continuous TB2 attacks from Poland. But that's it.
Dragging China into this and getting some sort of united European action against China is the only American win I can see left on the table.
They already tried. There is coordinated propaganda on western media that China knew the invasion with the usual US intelligence sources. But this stands on shaky ground, since the Chinese people in Ukraine are also victims. It was business as usual for China in Ukraine despite of overwhelming noise of invasion before Feb 24, 2022. We will never know for sure if this info was relayed to Chinese side.

Had President Xi know this in advance, he should have evacuated Chinese nationals in Ukraine before the shooting started because that is one of his job. President Xi risked a backslash at home but somebody calculated it to be manageable.

Evacuating Chinese nationals in Ukraine before the shooting is a peanuts decision for President Xi. But doing it only after the shooting, China automatically also becomes a victim, and President Xi successfully distance himself from Putin despite of their closeness.

Better not having a battle arround a nuclear power plant... great asset but can ruin a good part of Ukraine for hundreds of years.
Yes. There is a legitimate concern about this escalation. Several organizations have already spoken about this risk. I've checked some information and it seems to me that the checkpoint at the entrance to Energodar has been dispersed. Russian military forces began to take full control of the city. RF troops are moving north from Zaporozhye, looking to emerge on the borders with the Dnepropetrovsk region in short order.

Same thing can be said about Europe. Europeans can't be trusted.

Except for the few really don't want to go. Everyone should leave Ukraine ASAP.

What Beijing will do next depends on how hard the U.S. will push sanctions on Russia, say the foreign-policy advisers. Mr. Xi also likely will continue to maintain his partnership with Mr. Putin, as Beijing sees little chance of improvement in its U.S. ties and needs to keep Russia around as its most important strategic collaborator even if it isn’t an outright ally. But that will require China to continue to straddle an increasingly difficult diplomatic position.

In internal meetings over the past year, the officials and foreign-policy advisers say, Mr. Xi has emphasized the U.S. as the biggest threat to China’s interests, centering China’s foreign policy on aligning with Russia to confront Washington.

Sergey Radchenko, an international-relations professor at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, pointed to instances where Mr. Putin would be deliberately late for meetings with foreign dignitaries. On one occasion, he brought out his dog to a meeting with then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel who, Mr. Putin knew, was terrified of dogs.

“He would never let himself do anything like that to Xi,” Mr. Radchenko said. “He’s extremely respectful to Xi because he sees a close relationship with China as one of Russia’s most valuable political assets.”

Do we have any news about russian troops in or going out of Transnistria ?
Russia has around 1,500 to 2,000 troops in Transnistria whose mission is to garrison the Cobasna ammunition depots near the Ukrainian border, where around 20,000 tons of ammunition are stored.

At least I have not yet found news that Russian troops in Transnistria invaded Ukraine. If there is any action by the 1,500 to 2,000 Russian troops in Transnistria in Ukraine, it will be when the Russians are very close to Odessa. A Russian map that has been released indicates that part of the operation will come from Transnistria, but no evidence at this time.

This message is meaningless. Intelligence is measured by quality not quantity. Giving Ukrainians full access to all information is not very useful as they lack the infrastructure to process it.

Americans will be gathering as much information as they can, making decisions and conveying that over to Ukrainians.

There is the option of invading Moldova if NATO escalates, or at least the threat to.

Since numerous NATO countries have cleared their citizens to join the fight in Ukraine, what happens to them when they get capture? Does the POW rule of Geneva convention applies to those foreign volunteers?

I know Geneva convention doesn't apply to mercenaries as they are not recognized as legitimate combatants. But foreign citizens that volunteered are not exactly contracted mercenaries though. Are they going to be imprisoned in Russia after the war?

it doesn't matter, they don't have any rights and as such can be arrested

There are going to be a of gas pipelines built to China. Have them serve a lifetime in hard-labour on building these pipelines
